Democrat Worms vs. Administration of Edgelords

So the government is back open, and we’re back to the same problems that have plagued us from the very beginning.

1990s Simpsons was so so good at understanding politics, most of their jokes still hold up today.

The megarich are getting richer, greedy politicians are probably getting even more money from this (as proven by the snarky nonsense the Senate republicans put on the bill before tossing the grenade of shit towards the House), and those essential health care subsidies are going to disappear and potentially toss even more Americans into a life without proper health care. Politically speaking, this is a disaster to the nth degree.

The government shut down for basically no reason as the Centrist Democrats have basically surrendered their fight as they weren’t prepared to extend their battling all the way to their Thanksgiving weekend. In the span of the time the government was shut down, we saw the Trump Administration basically beg the Supreme Court to halt the feeding of poor kids and families, and then watched as a tech company approve a deal that would literally give Elon Musk a trillion dollars if conditions are met. 60% of the country live paycheck to paycheck, and we have a miserable man who might earn an amount of money that would be larger than several entire countries. The United States has over a dozen people whose wealth can actually solve global hunger with enough left over to live comfortably, and we don’t have enough politicians in office actually willing to stop the backsliding towards third-world country status.

We have seen theories tossed left and right as to why the wormiest of the Democratic Party, even with all the political momentum in the world, would give up a fight they were clearly winning. These politicians represent the American people, who have displayed their discontent towards everything happening with poll after poll, and they wanted people with a spine to stand up to the administration making everything miserable. And this necessary resistance is just not happening, from the small fry politicians to the politically bipolar disappointments (looking at you Fetterman) all the way up to leaders of the Democratic Party in multiple chambers (Jeffries and especially ESPECIALLY Schumer). The pundits will spitball their theories, explanations, and maybe even throw in a couple rumors, but I think it’s a little simpler than people like to lead on.

The Trump Administration is basically a cackle of edgelord bullies, and the old guard of the Democratic Party is ill-equipped and unprepared to engage in extended pushback, and are being financially bribed to pick and choose their fights. United States have two broken major political parties, and both are backed by blood money to continue keeping their distance from the obvious solutions to the problems facing America. This blood money is also why a third or fourth party cannot emerge under current circumstances.  

We’ll start with the Trump Administration’s methodology on how to run things: run them to the ground, collect the loot, and fuck over as many people as possible on their way out the door for when the tide eventually turns, and then use all this newfound wealth and power to ensure that there are no consequences for their actions. 2016 was a dry run, a testing of the rules in existence, seeing how much resistance they’d face, see how much their fanbase would tolerate, and see how close the law would be chasing them for if they lose their control of any of the branches of government. Of course, use the internet slang and humor to perplex the media and the old bums who have no idea what it’s like to constantly consume the online slop every day.

This Flood the Zone strategy would have never worked in the 1980s or the 1990s simply because the floodgates related to the controversial decision to allow Citizen’s United to spend endless cash on politicians and elections had not opened yet. But also, this strategy doesn’t happen under Reagan or Clinton because the poll numbers of both parties simultaneously had never been so alarmingly low, and the people have never been so angrily desperate for change. The anger and discontent among most Americans have resulted in some even supporting the MAGAs in the White House looting their own pockets, because they believe that as long as their opponents are also getting hurt its all worth it in the end. On top of that, this Flood the Zone strategy has one major advantage: the dark 4chan-esque corners of social media feeding into the frenzy of chaos, distrust, and dangerously stupid buffoonery.

The edgelords are winning, and the poorest of the poor and the angriest of the angry are celebrating the chaos.

The Democratic Party consists of many elder statesman and many old-school career politicians who are quite simply not up to task to fight for Americans, or stand up to an entire political party being dominated by a hateful, unhelpful cult full of hurt people. On top of that, the spiteful cult is being bankrolled by billionaires who are clearly miserable; whether its Elon Musk who tweets his emotional breakdowns, Peter Thiel who doesn’t even believe in saving humanity, Mark Zuckerberg who is doomsday prepping out in Hawaii, or all the shadowy figures who would rather remain anonymous so we can’t virtually hunt them down for when they finance awful crap harming people living within these borders.

Many are comparing what’s happening within the Trump Administration to the likes of Nazi Germany’s rise, but I think the truth is a little simpler and less-scary than that. Yes, we do see some within the administration who would love to emulate such a drastic change (especially Stephen Miller), but truthfully these white supremacist folks are ironically too weak to ever properly implement such a drag into hell. Those actually pulling the levers of stupidity are not at all in it for the long run, they don’t have any major desire to actually cleanse the country of everyone they don’t deem fit---it’s a daunting task and they’d rather just take the money and run. We just saw it with Majorie Taylor Greene, and I’ll bet you anything that come 2026 you’ll see more folks running away from Washington D.C. with the loot with enough set aside to legally challenge all their sins for when the tide turns and the Democrats stumble upon more political power.

But if the Democrats want to stumble back into the good graces of frustrated voters, then they have to stop playing 20th century politics, learn the tricks of the edgelord game, and start dishing back the 4chan chaos back to them.

Trump talking about Trump 2028? Then challenge him directly with Obama 2028 hats. MAGA joyfully talking about removing federal funding for blue cities? Then respond with providing literal statehood for the largest cities when you gain back the power. No more money for Los Angeles? Guess what, statehood for Los Angeles County and they’ll never have that problem again.

Outlandish claims and lies should be met with outlandish ideas and demands. The Democrats have to discuss clearing out the entire Supreme Court, stripping all dark money from politics, setting age and term limits in all branches of government, setting up a salary cap, and creating a dead man’s trigger where if the government shuts down for a week, then everyone in the House and Senate are removed from office and new elections emerge in one month. I have seen Gavin Newsom provide some of this energy I’m demanding, but he won’t be enough, we need more. Fetterman could have provided the blueprints, but he’s stroked out of relevance a long long time ago. Damn, what a disappointment he still is.

If MAGA wants to flip over the table and defy the status quo, then the Dems have to threaten to do the same, because this will force Trump and his cronies to actually come to the table to play nice now that they have removed all the guardrails that would prevent an unhinged AMLO type from implementing changes without resistance. Playing nice is no longer a viable option on the table, it is time to sharpen the swords and seek alternative options.

We are not dealing with politicians; we are dealing with bullies trained by the internet. The solution isn’t to prove that you’re morally above them, the Biden Administration largely failed because they thought just returning to the status quo was going to be enough to keep out MAGA and the billionaire bullies. The solution is to push back, its to expand horizons as to what politics can and should be. The rules are being rewritten, so might as well contribute to the new era of White House politics by forcefully pushing measures that guarantees that we’ll never see a poisonous MAGA-type movement ever again.

And if the ancient Democrats aren’t up to such a task, then they are part of the problem and should be bullied out of Washington D.C. as well.
