Early Voting, Extended Striking: Winning the Midterms With a National Shutdown

The White House is compromised.

Both political parties have been severely compromised. But this is especially true with the ruling Republican Party aka the MAGA Party aka the I ONLY SERVE DONALD TRUMP Party.

The Republican Party is no longer serving people, they are no longer in the business of representing or helping their constituents. They are only serving themselves and the orange demigod that has hijacked their party and tossed out every ounce of decency that may have existed within the party’s parameters. They are happily willing to go to war for Trump regardless of how many former partners and friends he has discarded and neglected over the years, regardless of how even dangerous it can be remaining an ally of the orange clown. Look at Mike Pence, he likely still gets death threats today.

Yes we can debate for how long the Republican Party has been straight-up trash, and yes, we can likely trace the beginning of their moral downfall with the Nixon Era. However, in this current administration we are seeing newer and newer lows with this collection of unqualified delinquents.

They want over one billion dollars for a ballroom as 60% of Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck. They want us to continue fighting Iran in a pointless war because of the financial and religious ties to the bloodthirsty Israeli government. They want us to accept ongoing tax cuts for the 1%ers as we see more and more cuts to basic services domestic and international that saves lives, confronts poverty, hunger, and health problems. They want us to be perfectly fine with Trump and the Supreme Court constantly trashing the U.S. Constitution and rules of law just because they are in charge. We have witnessed dozens of actions, decisions, and inactions that warrant impeachment and removal of dozens of politicians under a better system of government that isn’t being dominated by dark money.

Their latest collective action against the U.S. public is now the intense gerrymandering that is threatening to remove any semblance of minority voices on a political atmosphere across the entire southeastern portion of the United States. Tennessee has just stripped away actual proper representation from Memphis, one of the blackest cities in the United States. Florida has split up Tampa to three regions just to take away a Democrat representative in a state that already belongs to the conservatives. Don’t get me started on what is happening in Arkansas and Louisiana, and Mississippi. And poor Virginia did the right thing by putting their new map to a public vote, and the state’s supreme court still threw out the results, denying the voters their voice entirely.

This gerrymandering doesn’t just potentially hand Republicans super-safe numbers in an entire corner of the U.S. (barring a 1994-esque midterm wipeout by the opposition), but it also pretty much transforms the South into a Whites Only representative block, despite Black Americans and Latinos making up nearly 40% of the entire population. 60% of all Black Americans in the United States live in the South, and they may not be able to have a single individual reflect their political preferences in the House of Representatives for at least a decade.

Its unacceptable obscene behavior. Jim Crow and the Confederates are back with an ugly vengeance.

I truly don’t care what the Supreme Court claims, the conservatives in the Clown Court are also compromised with money, power, and a desire to appeal to the top member of the Epstein Files. There’s a chance that some of these same conservatives also show up in the pedophile documents, I definitely have money on Clerence Thomas being on those files. Whatever their reason might be, whether it be money, power, fear, religion, or just being unhappy pricks and wanting the rest of the country to be miserable, the Supreme Court has become a useless beacon of legal authority as they have clearly decided to abide not by the Constitution but by what Donald Trump believes.

Clearly, just simply saying “vote harder” is not enough of a suggestion to turn the tide and stop this nationwide backsliding into becoming a cluster of third-world countries climbing on top of each other and pretending like its one unified top-tier nation. Yes, a country that never cracks 70% voter turnout on the main elections would probably see better results if people actually showed up. Texas, the second most-populated state in the entire country, didn’t even reach 60% turnout in the 2020 election, and rumor has it there might be just as many Democrats as Republicans living in the state today. Actual Republicans/Conservatives in the U.S. remain a much smaller population when compared to the number of Democrats, NPA Independents, and those who don’t participate in politics at all.

But the solution isn’t just to vote. It is time to vote while shutting down the entire country.

I am proposing an idea that I believe will work and can result in numbers so dastardly that it will send MAGA backstabbing each other and pointing fingers. I believe that if we commit and stay the course, we can send Trump packing by February 2027.

It is time for a National Strike, the largest and longest nationwide strike in the United States’ recent history.

No credit card usage. Cash Only. No splurge purchases.

No work. No school. No Amazon.

No Social Media. And this will be the toughest to perform, but also no sporting events.

Side-note, the resistance against the white supremacist administration would be so much easier to manage if the larger companies within the U.S. were actually brave. Imagine an NFL that shuts down the season to protest Trump.

But not now, we will not perform this strike today, not even this or next season.

Instead, we should start planning now to officially strike on October 27th, 2026, and it should run for a week until the final day to vote in the important midterm elections, which is November 3rd, 2026. Sorry NFL and College Football, but you’re going to be ignored for at least one weekend.

One week of everything stopping from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast, to strictly focus the conversation and media attention towards the elections. One week to pausing all aspects of life to text, e-mail, and/or call your representatives, your governors, your senators, your non-voting family members, your neighbors, your enemies, your co-workers, your exes, and trying to get as many people to vote as humanely possible. It is time to use that period of nationwide stoppage to calmly but decisively explain to everyone around you as to why things are as bad as they are, and why they cannot continue complaining if they choose not to participate in a process that can remove the political poison infecting the White House and beyond.

None of us are asking for you to forever join alongside the Democratic Party, because they are also full of trash politicians in need of removal (Schumer and Jeffries, you both deserve the boot after Trump). To be blunt, I vowed to never be registered as a Democrat after what the DNC did to Bernie Sanders (twice).

But at the very least, in order to get rid of the MAGA disease, in order to get rid of the ongoing chaos occurring from the angry bitter edgelords led by a morally diseased dementia-laden psychopath, we have to give the Democrats back the power so that they can potentially remove worst politicians from the White House and start building new obstacles to prevent this level of chaos from happening ever again. None of these gerrymandered seats are set in stone, they can be flipped, the House can be shuffled with a high-enough voter turnout against the worst administration since Andrew Johnson, aka the most unpopular administration since King George the Third.

Voting in the United States can be a difficult, expensive, and elongated task in many stretches across the country. Those of us in larger, more developed, more progressive regions are blessed to be able to vote without much of a hassle. But those who are stranded in far off regions of America like rural West Virginia, farmland Iowa, underdeveloped lower Mississippi, middle-of-nowhere Dakotas, etc., it takes more of an effort to register and actually vote.

This stoppage of such a grandiose scale would allow more space for voting road trips, voting trips, resource and information distribution, mail-in ballot assistance, more collective outreach, and other methods of ensuring that every America eligible to vote can actually do so without harm. But this has become a country where free time is scarce, almost a luxury. This is why a work stoppage is required for the massive turnout to truly take effect; we take back power in our lives to make sure that the Republicans are punished for their horrendous behavior throughout the MAGA era and beyond. It is time to begin to undo the damage caused by the 2000 election.

Now, there’s another wrinkle to this plan of stopping the economy and labor for a week: prepare for a new chapter if the turnout is extremely good and the Republicans still keep their power.

If enough people are willing to accept that this is what they want moving forward and still vote for the KKK-infused cult, even as the economy continues sputtering and we continue spending money on conflicts (Venezuela, Iran, Cuba) and sending money to countries that Trump likes (Israel, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Israel again), even after all the political corruption MAGA is engaging in domestically and overseas (The news regarding Honduras’ ex-president’s future aspirations demands your attention), then maybe this country is no longer for you and me.

Maybe the week of intense stoppage can be used to consider the possibility to seek a better life elsewhere. There is zero shame in being willing to leave as opposed to staying and fighting a MAGA-dominated White House for more years. There are stats floating around revealing the growing number of U.S. Americans moving to another country, even Mexico has entire communities of U.S. immigrants. This week is more than just denouncing the administration, denouncing the direction of this country, and voting for important change, this week can be used for reflection. Maybe even after all of this, the United States at its core is fine with the racist, selfish, immoral, and chaotic persona representing us right now. Maybe this country is beyond saving. But the best way to truly find out is to shut it ALL down and help deliver the widest electoral midterm turnout in modern history.

One-day strikes, one-day movements, public shaming, and disruptive public demonstrations just don’t cut it anymore, as money and undeserving power heals all public wounds for these greedy politicians. No More Kings are good rallies with a strong message, but it’s not enough. It is time to really expand the protest, shut everything down, and force the administration, the awful mainstream media, the pundits, and all politicians to see our frustrations, see our rage, and prepare for a future that might include generational changes in the White House and the political process moving forward.

But the absolute best time to expand the anti-MAGA protest movement is to deliver it right on the doorstep of a very consequential election; an election that very likely will display to the world as to whether or not Americans are actually upset, or they are complacent to the carnage affecting the most vulnerable and the lower classes from sea to shining sea. Don’t just fight online over the gerrymandering atrocities, register to vote, start saving money, and prepare for a wild political fight that won’t finish until the final vote is tallied in November. I think the best chance to win the midterms, take over the House and Senate, send MAGA running to the hills, is to shut down the entire country for a week and use that time to push everyone to vote out the chaos and display the power of a collective expanded stoppage.

We have the numbers on our side; the orange man remains extremely unpopular. What we need is the energy and the collective commitment to take the necessary steps to stomp out the bullies on the ballot box.

I’m already planning my strike plans, and I suggest that if you’re just as angry as I am, you should too.
